Tradition Meets Creativity: Students Celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival Through Art and Taste

From September 21 to 23, 2026, the Chinese Department hosted a captivating series of Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, immersing students from the Chinese Program in the beauty of Chinese culture and tradition.

A highlight of the event was an artistic literature project, where students crafted vibrant 3D dioramas to visually interpret classic Mid-Autumn poetry. This hands-on experience allowed students to engage deeply with ancient verses while gaining a richer understanding of the festival’s origins, cultural significance, and enduring customs.

Chinese Department teachers also designed a festive cultural booth adorned with delicate mooncakes and traditional tea sets. Students had the opportunity to sample authentic mooncakes paired with fragrant Chinese tea. As they savored these quintessential festive delicacies, students not only enjoyed a delightful treat but also broadened their global perspective through an authentic cultural experience.
