The WIS Annual Fund is the foundation for all giving at our school and impacts every aspect of the day-to-day WIS experience. We ask every family to give because every family benefits.
Who benefits from the Annual Fund?
- Current students benefit from exceptional academic and extracurricular programs. The Annual Fund supports everything from experiential learning opportunities, to athletics, to the arts and classroom technology—while creating room for innovation across the curriculum. The Fund also supplements the School’s financial aid budget each year, which means more opportunities for talented and deserving students and greater socioeconomic diversity.
- Teachers and staff benefit by attending conferences, sharing best practices, and learning alongside leaders in the field of education. The Fund supports life-long learning and ensures that classrooms have up to date technology and resources—meaning teachers have the tools to prepare students to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.
- Alumni and the greater WIS community benefit from engagement opportunities with other WIS alumni, families, and friends, and at community events supported by the Fund, such as our alumni Lunch & Learns, the annual Auction for Financial Aid, and Grandparents and Special Persons Day.
Our goal is ambitious, but achievable: 100% participation at whatever level is comfortable for each member of the WIS community.
There are three main opportunities to participate in the Annual Fund:
General Operating Support. Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund are designated to General Operating Support and help to make a difference across all sorts of areas and programs. WIS will direct these dollars to the area of greatest need.
Financial Aid Challenge Week. Thanks to a generous matching gift challenge, gifts to the Annual Fund designated to financial aid have even greater impact during this special week. Join us for this annual online fundraising event that makes our WIS community even stronger.
Auction for Financial Aid. Our annual Auction, occurring each spring, is a community celebration bringing WIS families, friends, and alumni together for a fun and festive evening. Funds raised via the event benefit WIS’s financial aid program, which serves nearly 150 students each year.

EVERY GIFT MATTERS
The WIS Annual Fund comprises philanthropic contributions that fund financial aid, faculty professional development, technology, campus maintenance, and more. Annual Fund dollars are immediately put to work by helping to cover operating expenses and fund everything our students experience in the classroom.
