Primary School STEAMfest & Art Exhibition Wows Attendees
Did you know...
- that NASA uses origami when creating solar panels for use on space shuttles?
- that objects reflect UV light differently, depending on their materials?
- that the color of your house could help save energy?
- that certain drinks lead to tooth decay?
- that a battery can be made out of a lemon?
You would have learned all this information — and SO MUCH MORE — at Saturday's Primary School STEAMfest and Art Exhibition! The Primary School campus was transformed into a hub of scientific and mathematic inquiry and a stunning art gallery for this annual event. The excitement was palpable as families engaged with student experiments and research, while also contemplating the array of art created throughout the school year.
The crowd heard from keynote speaker Jenna Lanier, a landscape architect (and WIS parent!), who explained "How STEAM Helps Me Transform Backyards Into Outdoor Superpowers."
Thank you to all the participants at STEAMfest and to all the WIS faculty and staff who helped organize this inspiring day!
