About WISMUNC I

Washington International School’s Model United Nations Conference (WISMUNC) is for Middle School delegates in Grades 5–8 hosted by WIS Upper School students. We seek to create an engaging environment where Middle School students will experience a day of debate, diplomacy, and collaboration.

Letter from the Secretaries General:

Dear Sponsors and Delegates:

It is our honor to invite you to the first iteration of Washington International School’s Model United Nations Conference.

As WISMUNC’s first iteration, we are dedicated to building a conference that inspires and pushes Middle School delegates to consider pressing global issues from different perspectives. At WISMUNC I, delegates will be challenged to tackle international issues in an international city, at a preeminent international school.

As a conference positioned at the start of the MUN season, we are dedicated to fostering the skills delegates need to succeed in future conferences. Notably, each delegate will participate in a mid-day delegate development workshop, where they will have the opportunity to strengthen public speaking skills and hone crisis strategies with experienced WIS Upper School delegates.

Over the next several months, we encourage you to check our website and social media for updates. If you have any questions about WISMUNC I, please feel free to reach out to a member of the Secretariat. On behalf of our entire staff, we cannot wait to welcome you to campus on November 14!

All of our best,
Jonathan Gardiner and Leo Carcenac-Ratsimbazafy
