Grades 1 & 2 Students Learn WIStory

Grades 1 & 2 Students Learn WIStory from Famous WIS Alumnae... Their Teachers!

As part of their Unit of Inquiry, People Around the World, with the Central Idea "We live in a certain point in time and the way we live is different from other times," on December 3 our Grades 1 & 2 students participated in a special assembly focused on WIS History (or WIStory, if you will...). Grade 1 teachers talked about the School's upcoming 60th anniversary and how both campuses have changed over time. This was especially relevant since the students had just gone on a field trip to the Tregaron Campus, which has really transformed in the recent years!

Next, WIS alumnae who work at the School were invited to come and answer questions. The students heard from Associate Head of School Natasha Bhalla '91, and Grade 1 Assistant teachers Lilia Aparicio '98, Camilla Eigen-Zucchi '13, and Holden Davitian '19.

Finally, Grade 1 teacher Lucie Woolford asked the students "What does WIS mean to you?"

Their answers?

  • Community
  • Friendship
  • Being unique
  • Being kind
  • My whole world

We couldn't agree more! Thank you to the Grade 1 teachers, and especially our alumnae, for this awesome assembly!
