Grade 6 French Students Reflect on Their Identities

From Virginie Rampon, Middle School French Teacher: As part of a reflection on the year's theme, "Who I Am," Grade 6 students created fans that showcase their unique identity as a student. The objective was to help them reflect on their first few weeks in Middle School, as they transition out of Primary School to a new campus and with new classmates and teachers.

My hope is that students will look at their fans at the end of the school year and notice how they have grown and changed during their first year in Middle School — and even during their entire Middle School journey.

Because we did not finish the fans during class, I asked students to take them home to work on them. I'm hoping parents helped their children with their reflections, and the fans sparked meaningful conversations about souvenirs of growing up.
