Grade 2 Students Celebrate All They Have Learned About Weather

On November 13 and 14, our Grade 2 classes held their first Celebrations of Learning for the year! They have just finished their second unit focused on weather and were excited to demonstrate to their parents all they had learned. Throughout the unit, and in both English and their target languages, the classes studied the different elements of weather, how weather changes, and how it influences their daily lives. They also learned about print text features of non-fiction books, like a table of contents, glossary, and captions, and how these features help them to find the information they need. They created weather brochures about natural disasters like tornadoes, blizzards, hurricanes, and floods, and also made storm-spotter guides to help them predict the weather. Finally, they created charts explaining the typical weather for each season, and in STEAM class they created cup anemometers, which use rotating cups to measure speed.

Congratulations to our Grade 2 students and their teachers for a job well done!
