Upper School Community

Extracurricular activities at WIS offer an important balance to academic work and a welcome chance for students to explore and cultivate personal interests.
Upper School students maintain a rich extracurricular life, with opportunities for acting, singing, and dancing in dramatic and musical productions or chorus; playing instruments as part of the band or jazz ensembles; and/or becoming a member of one or more sports teams. The Upper School student government (International Students United) holds dances, fundraisers, and other activities throughout the year; the Honor Council offers additional possibilities for student leadership.
Service LEARNING
Students are required to perform a minimum of 80 hours of service in Grades 9 through 12. Students are encouraged to connect service opportunities with their personal interests; they volunteer in the local, national, and international communities.
