Students in Grades 4 and 5 who are interested in learning how to play an instrument or who wish to continue playing as part of an ensemble may participate in the Primary School Band/Orchestra at no extra cost. All classes will take place after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, sometime in the window between 3:30 and 4:30 PM.
There is an ensemble for students who already play an orchestral or band instrument. It is open for wind and percussion players as well as advanced string players. Also, there are beginning group classes for orchestral wind and percussion instruments. The beginning classes will merge into the ensemble in the spring.
Students who sign up for band are expected to commit for the full academic year in order to participate in the culminating concert at the end of May.
Supervision will be provided for students up until the end of the practice. Students who participate in instrumental music will need to rent their instrument from a local music store. Contact
Joshua Frayer with any questions.
