Rehearsals are held on Mondays after school from 3:35-4:35 PM. Supervision is provided for students until the end of rehearsal.
Prior to performances, rehearsals may be extended until 5:00 PM, and extra rehearsals may be required, possibly on Fridays. Parents will be informed about these rehearsals as far in advance as possible.
Students who sign up for choir are expected to commit for the full academic year in order to participate in the culminating concert at the end of May.
Sign up is limited to 40 students and opens prior to the start of each school year.
Students in Grades 6 through 8 must take one semester of music each year. They may choose either vocal or instrumental music and have the opportunity to perform at winter and spring concerts.
Each Wednesday after school, there is a combined Grades 6-8 band rehearsal from 3:00-3:45 PM. This rehearsal focuses on concert material and provides an opportunity for all Middle School instrumentalist to rehearse together and prepare for the end-of-semester concerts.
Depending on student interest, a Middle School Jazz Band Club may be offered after school.
