Founder's Day
January 19, 1966 was an important day in WIS history: three children gathered for the first session of the "Little Language Class" in founder Dorothy B. Goodman's basement. Our founder celebrated her 90th birthday on January 15, 2016 and still lives in the house where those first classes were held. The Founder's Day celebration – observed on January 19, 2016 – was designed to honor Dorothy Goodman's dream of creating a school where children would study in two languages and would graduate with a broad world view, well prepared for further educational challenges.
