Founder's Day

January 19, 1966 was an important day in WIS history: three children gathered for the first session of the "Little Language Class" in founder Dorothy B. Goodman's basement. Our founder lived in the house where those first classes were held until her death in summer 2023. The Founder's Day celebration – observed on January 19, 2016 – was designed to honor Dorothy Goodman's dream of creating a school where children would study in two languages and would graduate with a broad world view, well prepared for further educational challenges.
