The After School Classes program is designed to give students in Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5 the opportunity to explore activities of particular interest. Whether just for fun and enrichment or to develop knowledge and skills, there are many great extracurricular programs available for our students. The program includes weekly classes in art, science, technology, languages, sports, instrumental music, dance, chess, and more.
The Extended Day Care program provides a safe and caring environment for Primary School children whose parents require child care services beyond the traditional school day.
Families may enroll their children on a regular or drop-in basis. Please note that EDC does not operate on days when WIS is officially closed, including vacations and when the School is closed due to inclement weather.
Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten
Supervision is offered from 3:00-6:00 PM; during this time, students alternate between indoor games and activities or outdoor free play.
Grades 1 to 5
Children in Grades 1-5 who are not in an after school class participate in Study Hall, a time set aside for children to work on their homework. Tutors are available to assist children with homework in English, French, or Spanish. Children in study hall are encouraged to work independently. They can ask their peers in the class questions and tutoring assistance is offered to support learning; however, new concepts are not taught during study hall, nor do we push children to complete homework during study hall.
Vacation camps are offered to children in Preschool through Grade 5 during the Winter and Spring Breaks, and also during the summer . These camps are available to children for the entire week as well as per day.
Sign up for Winter Break Camp (details for Winter 2018-2019 available HERE) and Spring Break Camp is available through Camp Brain. Visit the Summer Camp section of the website for details about summer camp offerings.
Our camp goals are to provide a safe, fun and relaxed environment where children can enjoy themselves in a group setting and explore new (or not so new) interests through play. Camp activities include field trips, arts and crafts, sports, cooking, and more. Children typically bring their own lunches and are provided with morning and afternoon snacks.
Child care will be available on professional days throughout the year. Sign-up is available through Camp Brain.
