Activities

Extracurricular activities at WIS offer an important balance to academic work and a welcome chance for students to explore and cultivate personal interests.

Primary School students paint, hone computer skills or cook during after school classes (part of the Enhancement Programs), and have the opportunity to participate in the Primary School Science Fair and Primary School chorus.

Middle and Upper School students maintain a rich extracurricular life, with opportunities for acting, singing and dancing in dramatic and musical productions or Chorus; playing in the Orchestra or Band; honing diplomatic skills in International Students United (student government); writing and editing for the school newspaper or yearbook; or participating in other activities

Trips

Every year, the School sponsors spring break trips to Spanish- and French-speaking countries for students in 7th, 8th and 9th grades. The trips generally last for 10 or 11 days. One year we travel to Spain and France, and in alternate years to places closer to the United States (Costa Rica, Montreal and Guadeloupe) where the inhabitants use Spanish and French in ways that differ from the countries of origin.
