Intensive: Ages 7 to 13
8:45 AM–3:00 PM
Weekly, June 26–August 4*
This program is designed for students who want to take their French or Spanish to the next level. To improve fluency and self-confidence in these languages and to build on what they already know, each morning campers focus on learning new vocabulary, grammar, syntax, and on reading. To apply what they learn, afternoon sessions focus on listening, speaking, and reading comprehension. Campers also create projects such as: presentations, movies, 3-D dioramas, informational posters, or even books that reflect everything they have learned. Please note this class requires familiarity in either French or Spanish.
During the week of July 31-August 4, all campers (including language learners) and staff will build an enormous cardboard city in the school gymnasium. During Cardboard City Week, campers make different parts of the city and learn their immersion language along the way. English speakers enrolled in specialty camps will either film the process or learn about architecture to assist with the construction of a major city building (to be decided by the group that week).
*August 7-11 is Transportation Week. For a description, click here.
