Counselor-in-Training: Ages 12 to 16
8:45 AM–3:00 PM
Two Sessions: June 26–July 14 and July 17–August 4
What does it take to be a leader? Join us for a special three-week leadership development program and find out. Designed for teens who want to become camp counselors, CITs learn about who they are as leaders under the mentoring of one of WIS’s experienced teachers. Using proven online training resources combined with classroom instruction and hands-on experience, they gain the skills needed to become every camper’s favorite counselor. Working with other teens, CITs learn effective teaching methods, sharpen their social communication skills, and develop leadership competencies. They are engaged in all aspects of campus life—from supervising recess to accompanying campers to the pool and on field trips—as well as planning special activities for various age groups. Exploration of the different stages of child development, individual styles, and needs, as well as health and safety on and off campus rounds out the training program.
