Global Issues Network Conference

The 2017 Global Issues Network Conference took place in March on The George Washington University campus. Co-hosted by students from School Without Walls, conference attendees included students from public, private and charter schools from around the Washington, DC area.

Keynote speakers included: Angelica Silvero, Head of the World Bank Speaker’s Bureau; Jon Greenberg, senior staff writer at Politifact; Doug Jackson, CEO of Project CURE, one of the largest providers of medical supplies to the developing world; and Joy Robertson, the Community Engagement Fellow at UNICEF.

The theme for 2016 conference was "The Youth Effect". The mission of the Global Issues Network (GIN) is to empower young people to collaborate locally, regionally and globally to create solutions for global issues. The goal for this year's conference is to have students from different backgrounds participating, presenting, and collaborating throughout the two-day conference.
