Application Process

The first step in the application process is typically visiting the school. The Admissions Office invites all prospective families considering WIS for the upcoming 2008/09 academic year to contact the Admissions Office to learn more about WIS. Informational tours are offered weekly from mid-September through mid-December. To learn more about our Tours and Open Houses click here.

Once the decision is made to apply to WIS, the following will be needed:
• Application Form (all applicants)
• Application Fee (all applicants - $50 standard, $75 for overseas processing)
• Language Profile and Choices Form (all applicants)
• Applicant Statement (applicants to Grade 6 and above)
• Parent Questionnaire (all applicants - completed by parents)
• School Recommendation Form (all applicants, waived for all Pre-K applicants who have not attended pre-school)
• Current School Reports (Applicants to Grade 1 and above)
• Past Two Years of Grades (Applicants to Grade 3 and above)
• Past Year Reports (Applicants to Grade 2)
• Admission Tests (Applicants to Grade 2 and above, school administered)
• Applicant Visits (Applicants to Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grade 1)
• Interviews (Applicants to Grade 6 and above – required for all local applicants, recommended for international applicants visiting Washington)
• Classroom Visits (Applicants to Grade 7 and above – recommended)

You may choose to supplement the application by submitting the following (optional):
• Teacher Evaluation or Assessments (applicants to Pre-K and K)
• Standardized Testing Results
